Hannah's Big Adventure (part 1) / senior photographer Illinois

A few nights ago Miss Hannah and I set out to document and capture a huge adventure in her life, her senior year!  Can I just say I love this age, no debt, no career, no kids or spouse to look out for, just a huge open adventure awaiting you.  Hannah was absolutely beautiful and so easy to work with, the camera loves her!

She was open to anything and of course I love that.  We set up an imagination shoot to match a vintage dress she had found.  (I know super cool huh?)  We did a picnic in the woods all 50's style with a vintage bike, lemonade, a quilt, and chocolate chip cookies.  I LOVE how it came together.

and like the title says this is part 1 of 2, Hannah and I will be going out again with 2 more outfit changes due to the over 100 degree weather that evening!  So be on the the lookout for more sneaks from Hannah.

Ok, after sharing that fun news with you, I want to share that we are now booking for that late "indian summer" light sessions and fall, and they, I am so happy to say, are filling up.  So, don't wait, if you are wanting to get pictures in during this prime time of the year.

And, no excuses about that last 10 pounds you need to loose, or figuring out what everyone will wear (I love to help with this BTW) time slips by so fast capture right now and hold onto it forever.

Meet Maddie | Illinois Teen Photographer

I had such a fun evening this week spending a couple of hours with Maddie and all her amazing talents.  Maddie is such a great young lady.  My kids adore her, she is one of our go- to babysitters, and she is just so dedicated and inspiring when it comes to her love of cheerleading and just life.  All of this and so beautiful on the outside to boot!  

I am actually writing an article to be published on this shoot so I can't share all of the fine details yet but, when I can I will let you know.  Until then, enjoy some Maddie shots and graceful talent!

and last, but not least, all teen girls love that edgy, make me look at little more sophisticated shot, and Maddie worked this one like a charm.

On a photographer's sidenote, and with a grain of my past life counseling wisdom, teen girls love feeling like a model for the day and having the memories to document it forever.  I love to show them how I see them through my lens, and the joy and confidence I can just see glow off of them when I show them how beautiful they are during the shoot in the back of my camera.  Just solidifies to me my job is so much more that just taking your photo and putting it in print, its helping to give them a self confidence boost because everyone is beautiful, and with a talent I was given my job is to show you!

Hug a teen if you can today!  They really do rock!

These were so much fun and artsy!  My favorite!  I love theme shoots, and lucky for me so does my 6 year old with a huge imagination.

Got to do photo's for Sarah's graphic design website yesterday. We had such good luck at a new abandon industrial site we found. I will be coming to this local again and again I am sure.

Let It Snow Let It Snow, Let It Snow!!!

Yes you are reading that right because, it means I get to do the H. Kids photo shoot tomorrow in a winter wonderland....I have so many creative ideas for this and can't wait. I will share with you as soon as I can!

Tips if you want to get out and shoot in a winter wonderland tomorrow too:

1.) bump up your exposure compensation a notch or 2.

2.) up your ISO

3.) do not shoot in mid-day sun (if their is any) nightmare in the snow to even attempt! trust me.

4.) Use some fun props like sleds, ornaments, hats, mittens, and scarves.

5.) get really fun at the end and start a snowball fight and shoot some great candids.
